Henry woke up still thinking about last night and how he wanted to make it up to Christine.

He planted a few gentle kisses on her shoulder and up to her cheek, ending on her lips. "I'm sorry, my love. You mean the world to me." He whispered.

That woke Christine up and she stirred, rolling over onto her back to look at him. A soft sigh escaped her. "It's all right, Henry. I shouldn't have made you angry in the first place," she said. As much as she never wanted to see that again. She was reminded that the man she loved technically wasn't a man anymore. And could have easily killed her if he wanted.

But she didn't want him feeling guilty all day so she changed the subject. "We have a wedding to plan," she said, sitting up and stretching. "We still have to book the venue and decide how big a deal we want to make of this."

Henry never wanted to feel that way again. He hated the way he reacted, the inhuman anger that should only be shown to his enemies. The actual lack of humanity was something he'd have to live with for all eternity.

"We do indeed, my love. Our special day." She knew how to distract him and make him smile again. "Something small and intimate, and romantic?"

"It depends on what you want. Every casino has a wedding venue. If you want an actual church of some kind, then that's going to be a bit harder to find." Christine said, weddings were big business in Vegas but not exactly big on proper ones. "And small is fine. It's not like I have many people to invite."

"Let's find the nicest venue they have here." Henry nodded. "I don't really have many people to invite either. Downside of outliving my family and friends, if you don't count the vampires I know.."

"There's more than one of you?" Christine said. It shouldn't have surprised her, but now she was just imagining their wedding being full of people who would try to have her as a snack. Or wondering if he'd talked about her to any of his friends.

"There is indeed. I'm not the only one of my kind out there." Henry grinned. He would only invite those he could trust around his mortal girlfriend. "If I do invite them, I'll make sure they behave. My old friend Speed is harmless enough, just need to track him down."

"I...I didn't..." Christine stumbled, caught a bit off guard. "I just don't want our wedding to be full of people I don't know who might want to hurt me."

[tasteforlife]

"What no. You didn't say anything wrong, my love. If there are vampires at our wedding, I want to make sure you're safe." He reached for her hand, kissing it gently.

“It just scares me. Thinking what else could be out there.” She sighed.

"My apologies. It wasn't my intention to scare you." Henry wrapped an arm around her. "You're safe. I'll make sure of it."

She nodded. “Can we keep this to people that we know? This is supposed to be our day. I want it to be about us.”

"Of course, my love. It should be a day of happiness and I'll do anything to make it so." Henry leaned in to kiss her softly.

Christine kissed him back and sighed. She was already still nervous about going out at night and now she was worried something else would prey on her. So much for happy wedding thoughts.

Not wanting to ruin something that meant so much to her, Henry decided to ask something that'd surely make her smile. "What flowers would you like, Mrs. Sturges?"

"Something purple. Purple has always been my color." Christine said softly. She was realizing how few people she had to invite and how this could go really wrong. "Let's just not make a big deal of this."

[tasteforlife]

"Purple is a nice color." They both clearly wouldn't have a long guest list, but he was okay with keeping it small. "We won't make a big deal of it, my love. The main thing is that you're there."

[fatebites]

"Of course I'll be there. I just didn't think this would be so complicated." Christine shook her head. This was why she was clearly not suited to marriage. She had no idea for most of this. "But as long as you're happy, that's all that matters to me."

[tasteforlife]

"If you are happy, I am happy. I want to make it a special day for you." Henry hadn't thought about things like this for the past 400 years. He had a lot to learn again.

"I never thought I'd get married," Christine admitted with a soft laugh. "I haven't the faintest clue where to start. So let's just pick someplace small and intimate, and do what we want to do. I guess we don't have to worry about catering. And it will have to be sometime in the evening, for you."

"I never thought I'd get married either, especially in my current form." Henry linked his fingers with hers, playing with them. "Evening would be the best. I don't want to look at my bride through a pair of sunglasses."

"And obviously no cake. We can't do that either." Christine sighed. "So really there's not much to do except pick a venue. Why don't I shower and then I'll get my laptop and we'll look at the various options? We can go visit any of the ones that you like."

"We can have cake. It's an important part of a wedding." Henry smiled. It would be a perfect day for the most beautiful woman. "That sounds good. Want company?"

[fatebites]

"Henry, you can't eat the cake." Christine replied as she stood and began to undress for her shower. "Sure, come if you like. But I don't want us to spend money on things you can't do anything with. Weddings can get expensive as hell. That's how they get you, you know."

[tasteforlife]

"It doesn't mean we shouldn't have it there." Henry nodded. He didn't want it to be too dull and unusual just because he's a vampire. He watched her for a moment before he began to undress too.

"I'm not saying that, I'm just saying I don't want to waste money on an ornate cake when only one of us is going to have any of it." Christine shrugged. Again the real issues of their relationship were striking her. "But I'm sure we can think of another thing to do."
